The Impact of Pandemic in Supply Chain Management in an Electronic Industry
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2022) SANTOS, Hermes Silva ALENCAR, David Barbosa de SANCHES, Antônio Estanislau PINTO JÚNIOR, José Roberto Lira BARBOSA, Kleber Mantovanelli; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
The logistics, social, and economic impacts caused by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic have unprecedentedly affected the supply chain of the electronics industry. Logistics played a crucial role in maintaining supply chain balance, despite facing challenges such as raw material shortages and high international freight costs. This case study analyzes the supply chain of an electronics industry in the Industrial Hub of Manaus, comparing the scenarios before and during the pandemic. Strategic tools such as SWOT analysis, Ishikawa diagram, and GUT matrix were used to map risks and propose mitigating actions. The results indicate that, despite the difficulties, the implementation of a crisis committee and efficient logistics management allowed business continuity and enhanced the maturity of the supply chain management process.

Logistics Management for Supplier Evaluation in an Industry Using Artificial Intelligence (Fuzzy Logic) for Decision Making
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2022) NEVES, Ananda Desirée Rondon Fonseca Jana das LEITE, Jandecy Cabral FONSECA JÚNIOR, Milton; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
Quality management is essential for the production of goods and services in a highly competitive market. This study analyzes factors influencing the performance and evaluation of an international supplier in the watch industry for the years 2019 and 2020. The objective is to collect indicators of rejected parts in the receiving inspection and assembly process, as well as deadlines for replacing defective parts, using fuzzy logic to support decision-making regarding supplier approval or disqualification. The quantitative approach involved data collection through spreadsheets extracted from the SAP system. Finally, improvement actions were suggested for the company based on the fuzzy method, aiming to minimize losses and optimize the supplier evaluation process.

The supply flow for the manufacture of technology products has been impacted by restrictions in its supply dynamics, due to complex issues that involves uncertainties in the supply of inputs. This context got worst with the global supply crisis for the electronics goods industry, especially for the automotive industries, in 2020. By this uncertain scenario, the research is based on the case study to develop a model, based on digital simulation, which estimates the risk of disruption in a production process of electronics industry, due to lack of supply of components. This study development examined how traditional production planning and control systems are integrating with new information technologies enabling to obtain an accurate data for predicting disruption risks. The model is based on real data and requirements generated by Production Planning and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) calculation to determine the disruption point, integrated within a Low Code Development Platform (LCDP) digital platform. The outcomes obtained in the case study highlighted the effectiveness of the proposal as the calculation of the disruption date and the production volume impacted by the disruption.

The text addresses the evolution of supply chain management, highlighting the emergence and popularization of the term "supply chain" with globalization. The 1950s marks the beginning of efficient management with techniques such as linear programming and simulation. In the following decades, tools such as MRP and the just-in-time concept emerged, making chain management strategic. The 1980s saw technological advances such as ERP systems. Outsourcing appears as a strategy for reducing costs, offering external resources and expertise. Global connectivity and advances in information technology have driven this practice. The text proposes to explore outsourcing as an extension of the business for expansion, presenting an empirical model. Action research is chosen for its suitability for outsourcing projects with experienced teams. The work follows the flow proposed by Cauchick Miguel et al. (2012), covering planning, data collection and analysis, implementation of actions, evaluation of results, report generation and simultaneous monitoring. The practical study focuses on an electronics production industry, proposing the introduction of production outsourcing as an expansion strategy. The method involves collaboration with several departments, such as Quality, Engineering and Production. The practical application results in the expansion of the factory, meeting expected demand without building new structures, using external spaces as a business strategy and increasing costs. The dissertation is justified by the gap in the exploration of practical methodologies for applying outsourcing in production companies. The objectives include proposing an outsourcing methodology for a specific company, analyzing existing techniques in the literature, proposing practices for application in production, analyzing cost reduction, implementing the methodology in a real case and analyzing and monitoring results. The work contributes to the understanding of the selection of companies for outsourcing practices, highlighting the importance of collaboration between contractor and contractor, in addition to providing important insights for specific corporate managers in adopting this expansion and cost reduction strategy.
