Development of a New Layout for Serial Labels to Reduce Interruptions in TV Lines Caused by Difficulty Reading Barcodes
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2022) RODRIGUES, Elias LEITE, Jandecy Cabral NASCIMENTO, Marcelo Maia do; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
With the advent of new technologies and increasing market demand, companies are continuously looking for ways to improve the efficiency of their production processes by eliminating waste and reducing rework. This study presents a proposal for redesigning serial labels used in the television production process, aiming to minimize interruptions caused by barcode reading failures. Quality tools such as PDCA, Brainstorming, 5W2H, Ishikawa Diagram, and the 5 Whys were applied to identify failure causes and propose effective solutions. The implementation of the new label layout significantly reduced line stoppages and improved the accuracy of collected information, contributing to the efficiency of the production flow.

Implementation of Design Improvement in a LCD Monitor Product Through the Application of Fuzzy Logic and Quality
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2022) SOUZA DA SILVA, Ronildo LEITE, Jandecy Cabral SOARES SILVA, Ítalo Rodrigo; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
Companies worldwide aim to launch new products annually. During this process, design failures are identified. This study analyzes the implementation of a new LCD monitor, where its design negatively impacted mass production due to adhesive infiltration in the joystick actuation mechanism. The applied methodology included quality tools (PDCA, Ishikawa, Kaizen) and Fuzzy logic. As a result, the defect rate decreased from 20% to 3%, costs with spare parts and repairs were reduced, and quality and productivity indicators improved.

The Importance of Feedback in the Applicability of the PDCA Cycle
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2023) ALMEIDA, Dario Amauri Lopes de; LIMA, Alexandra Amaro de
The final disposal of urban solid waste is a growing global concern. This study explores the application of the PDCA cycle as a continuous improvement tool in solid waste management at the Fametro University Center, Units 1 and 2, in Manaus, Amazonas. The research analyzes students' perception of selective waste collection and proposes a project to improve the waste management process. The results obtained through questionnaires demonstrate the need for environmental awareness and the integration of recycling into academic routines, highlighting the importance of structured planning to minimize environmental impacts.

Uso de ferramentas computacionais e de qualidade na melhoria de design de monitores de LCD
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024-02-01) SILVA, Ronildo Souza da; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
This dissertation addresses the improvement of LCD monitor design using computational and quality tools. The research is justified by the continuous need for innovation and enhancement of these devices to meet the growing demands for quality and functionality in the global market. The study focused on solving specific design issues, such as adhesive infiltration in the joystick button mechanism, which compromised monitor operation. By applying tools such as PDCA, Ishikawa Diagram, Kaizen, and Fuzzy Logic, the research successfully identified and implemented significant improvements, resulting in a drastic reduction in defect rates and production costs.

Uma Proposta de Metodologia de Gerenciamento de Resíduos Sólidos do Centro Universitário Fametro, Unidades 1 e 2, Manaus/Amazonas
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2024-11-20) ALMEIDA, Dario Amauri Lopes de; LIMA, Alexandra Amaro de
This work proposes a solid waste management methodology for Units 1 and 2 of the Centro Universitário Fametro in Manaus, Amazonas. With the increasing need for efficient solutions for urban solid waste management, the study aims to reduce environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices within the institution. The developed methodology applies quality tools, such as the PDCA cycle and the fishbone diagram, to optimize waste disposal, segregation, collection, treatment, and final disposal processes. The study also involves creating a selective collection plan and installing sorting units, aiming to transform Fametro into a model of sustainable management.

Companies all over the world aim to launch a considerable amount of new products every year. During this process, project failures and design problems are often detected. In this context, this study aims to scientifically explore the events that occurred during the implementation of a new LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor product, where its functionality, appearance, quality, and cost are considered satisfactory; however, its design had a negative impact on the mass production process and presented a great need for improvement. The research then sought to understand the causes of the problem and apply some solutions, especially for the biggest defect found in the project: infiltration of adhesive inside the joystick button actuation mechanism. The applied methodology was developed through action research, which meant an active role in the analysis of the problem and development of solutions within the research environment and used quality tools (PDCA, Ishikawa and Kaizen) and parameters of the fuzzy logic tools (linguistic variables, fuzzyfication, Inference rules and defuzzification). As the result, the organization obtained several benefits, such as reducing the defect rate from 20% to less than 3%, reducing costs with spare parts and repair service, and increasing quality and productivity indicators. There was also an impact on product costs, with probable savings with the implementation of the improvement estimated to be around R$ 16 million in a six-month period. Considering these factors, this work produced the desired effects on its object of study in a satisfactory way.
