(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) PALHETA, Pedro Ivan das Graças; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
The study proposes an automated system for capturing, storing, and utilizing rainwater at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM) – Manaus Industrial District Campus, aiming to reduce potable water consumption. The system uses photovoltaic panels to power sensors and actuators, ensuring autonomous operation. The reservoir was sized based on historical rainfall data, and preliminary results include the installation of reservoirs and process automation. The captured water is intended for non-potable uses, such as toilet flushing and cleaning, contributing to environmental and economic sustainability.

Potencial de Inserção de Fontes Renováveis para Geração Elétrica na Matriz Energética do Estado do Maranhão
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) Ó, Franklin Roosevelt Rodrigues do; Nielson Fernando da Paixão Ribeiro
The main objectives of this research are to evaluate the potential and prospects of exploration of renewable energy sources in the state of Maranhão, for conversion into electric energy, as well as to evaluate them. To this end, an introduction is made to the most relevant matrix of renewable energies, and it is broadly focused on the forms of energy conversion and existing technologies, both in application and in development, in Brazil and in the world. Research was done on the technical and economical feasibility for electric power generation from hydraulics, wind, solar, biomass, and oceanic sources, as well as the contribution of each one to the State Electric Matrix. The main projects for energy generation in operation and under implementation in the State were also presented, along with their respective economic, social, and environmental impacts. The technical information and data collection were obtained through bibliographic research, scientific articles, official websites of ANEEL, companies or organizations linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and manufacturers, universities, and research centers. The work concludes by presenting a synthesis of Maranhão's potential and opportunities to expand the participation of renewable energies in the state’s electricity matrix, along with suggestions for future studies.

Uso de Resíduos de Couro Tipo Wet Blue como Carga na Produção de Argamassas para a Construção Civil
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) ANJOS, Claudia Suellen Osório dos; SOUZA, José Antônio da Silva
The possibility of use in the manufacture of mortars using leather sawdust and sulphite copper waste (RCMS) in cement paste generates an alternative of attenuation of environmental factors. In the production of these mortars was used wet blue leather, RCMS, Portland cement II and water. This research aimed to study the physical behavior of developed mortars and elucidated their performances. Traits made were 1:3:0; 1:3:2.5; 1:3:5; 1:3:7.5; 1:3:10 and 1:3:15, both with composition established in 100 g of cement and 300 g of RCMS, varying only the quantity of leather sawdust and water, being produced 18 specimens, 3 being reference cement, RCMS and water. After 28 days of life were submitted to: water absorption, apparent porosity, apparent specific mass and resistance to axial compression. The mortars were analyzed by dispersive energy X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).

Estudo para Reutilização de Resíduos Sólidos Secos Gerados em Escolas Públicas no Município de Santarém
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) NEVES, Daniela Cristina Pantoja; SOUZA, José Antônio da Silva
The consumerist profile of the world population through industrialized products results in the growth of waste from its packaging. Therefore, environmental degradation becomes a fact that already suffers significant consequences in the global sphere, thus enhancing discussions with the aforementioned issue so that solutions to minimize the problem are idealized and effective. Thus, this study proposes the reuse of Dry Solid Residues (RSS) generated in state public schools of the municipality of Santarém (PA). The research was developed at the two largest public schools in the state of Pará, Brazil. The RSS was collected, related, quantified and weighed for one week, so that the annual estimate of unit, type, mass, gravimetric composition was to be used as a parameter for its reuse. As a result, it was verified the generation of 47 different items of RSS, with 79% packaging related to foodstuffs. The total mass was approximately half a ton with 498.167 kg / year. Regarding the type of RSS, aluminum is shown with 21.159 kg / year, plastic with 468.146 kg / year and glass with 8.862 kg / year. The gravimetric composition was around 4.25% aluminum, 93.97% plastic and 1.78% glass. The generated RSSs have potential for reuse in both teaching materials and utensils for use in school.

The study evaluates the potential of the liquid residue (manipueira) generated in the production of cassava flour in the community of Cucurunã, Santarém-PA, as a source of nutrients for agriculture. The manipueira was physicochemically characterized, showing high levels of organic matter (BOD and COD), acidic pH, and the presence of cyanide. The results indicate that, with proper treatment, manipueira can be used as an organic fertilizer, contributing to the environmental and agricultural sustainability of the region.

Uso de Carvão Ativado Produzido a Partir de Semente de Açaí (Euterpe Oleracea) para Tratamento de Água da Comunidade de Membeca no Município de Santarém-PA
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) BEZERRA, Roseclea Medeiros; SOUZA, José Antônio de Silva; MAIA, Raimunda Figueiredo da Silva
The research aimed to produce activated charcoal from açaí seeds for water treatment in the riverside community of Membeca, in the municipality of Santarém, state of Pará. The study was conducted in two phases: in the first, açaí seeds were collected, activated charcoal was produced using chemical methods, and a handmade filter was elaborated. In the second phase, parameters such as suspended solids, turbidity, apparent color, total coliforms, Escherichia Coli, pH, temperature, aluminum, iron, nitrate, manganese, mercury, and lead were analyzed. The results showed that the use of activated charcoal under the experimental conditions did not meet the standards for water quality for human consumption, although it was effective in reducing some parameters, such as manganese, nitrate, and lead.
