    The research analyzes how a company from the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) in the paper, pulp, and cardboard subsector directs its actions on the disposal of its solid waste according to environmental legislation. The study, conducted between 2014 and 2017, reveals that more than 80% of the waste generated by the company was treated for reuse and recycling. The research highlights the importance of complying with Law No. 12,305/10 for effective environmental management.

Civil construction represents a significant portion of the national GDP and generates a high volume of solid waste, whose inadequate disposal can cause environmental damage. The study proposes an environmental management plan for vertical buildings in the city of Manaus, aiming to reduce construction and demolition waste (CDW) and monitor its final destination, balancing progress and the environment.

    This study aims to discuss environmental education as a process for water treatment intended for human consumption in the Vila Canoas Community, in the rural district of Presidente Figueiredo/AM. The research sought to understand residents’ habits regarding water collection, preservation, treatment, and usage. An analysis of the quality of the consumed water and the disinfection practices adopted by the community was conducted. The study employed qualitative and quantitative approaches, including interviews and participant observation. The results indicate the need to strengthen educational practices for water resource preservation and the adoption of effective treatment methods.

    ANÁLISE DE PARÂMETROS FÍSICO-QUÍMICOS DE ÁGUAS DA MICROBACIA DO IGARAPÉ DO QUARENTA NA CIDADE DE MANAUS

    The research analyzes the physical and chemical parameters of water in the Igarapé do Quarenta microbasin in Manaus-AM, evaluating the impact of improper discharge of liquid and solid waste from domestic sewage, garbage, and industrial effluents. Samples were collected from nine strategic points during the rainy season of 2018. The results indicate high pollution levels, exceeding the limits established by CONAMA, especially in areas near industrial and residential waste discharge.
