This study presents a procedure to reduce setup time in 800-ton injection molding machines at a company in the Manaus Industrial Hub, using the SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) method. The research shows that reducing setup time to less than 15 minutes, combined with a continuous improvement system, led to financial gains exceeding R$ 200,000.00, along with improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.

REDUÇÃO DO CUSTO DE PASTA DE SOLDA NO PROCESSO DE TECNOLOGIA DE MONTAGEM SUPERFICIAL (SMT)
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2021) CAMARGO, Marco Antônio de Almeida; BRAGA, Eduardo de Magalhães
The Surface Mounting Technology (SMT) industries have faced constant challenges regarding environmental issues and cost reduction. The welding of electronic components traditionally incorporates lead, which presents environmental and financial risks due to the high cost of solder paste. The objective of this dissertation is to present the development of the local solder paste manufacturing process to reduce production costs while maintaining the quality and reliability of the product, especially in television electronic boards. The study includes a literature review on the SMT process and a case study in a factory located in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The results show that adopting local suppliers can generate significant savings by minimizing costs related to importation and logistics.

PRODUÇÃO E IMPLANTAÇÃO DE UMA BASE DE TESTES: APLICAÇÃO EM TESTES DE PLACAS DE COMPUTADORES E NOTEBOOKS EM UMA FÁBRICA NA CIDADE DE MANAUS.
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019) FRAGATA NETO, Plácido Donato.; MAGALHÃES, Edílson Marques.
The research addresses the implementation of a unique testing base for computer and notebook boards in a factory in Manaus. Currently, the assembly line uses imported test bases specific to each board model, leading to high import costs and increased setup time. This study proposes the development of a single test base produced locally with materials already available in the factory. The results showed that the single test base was effective, adapting to different board models, reducing import costs, and setup time.

APLICAÇÃO DO MOST COMO FERRAMENTA DE APOIO À IMPLANTAÇÃO DE NOVOS PRODUTOS DE FABRICAÇÃO
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018) SILVA, Natália Figueredo; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
Given globalization and market competitiveness, companies need strategies to efficiently enable new product manufacturing. This study applies the MOST (Maynard Operations Sequence Technique) method to estimate the necessary time for manufacturing a new product in an audio industry located in the Manaus Industrial Hub. The proposed method allowed for more accurate production time calculations, reducing costs and optimizing labor allocation.
