The study evaluated the mechanical properties of concretes produced with three types of coarse aggregates available in Santarém-PA (crushed stone, gravel, and "quebradinho"), using water/cement ratios of 0.74, 0.54, and 0.41. Properties were analyzed in both fresh (slump, cohesion, water demand) and hardened states (compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity). Results showed lower water demand with gravel and higher strength with crushed stone. "Quebradinho" offered economic advantages for 20 and 30 MPa concretes. The choice of aggregate directly influences concrete quality and cost.

Aplicação da Programação Linear no Controle de Estoque de Peças de Reposição em uma Organização Aérea: Estudo de Caso
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) Alexandra Priscila Costa Pessoa; Rui Nelson Otoni Magno
The research addresses the application of Linear Programming as a tool to optimize spare parts inventory control in an airline organization. The study seeks to minimize costs and maximize logistics efficiency, considering operational constraints and the demand for parts. The methodology employed involves the formulation of mathematical models based on Linear Programming to determine the ideal quantity of parts to be kept in stock, ensuring the necessary availability without excesses that could financially impact the organization. The case study presents a practical application of the proposed modeling in an airline company, demonstrating the benefits of the approach. The results indicate that the use of Linear Programming can lead to a significant reduction in operating costs, improving inventory planning and management. The research contributes to the literature on supply management by providing a model that can be adapted to different business contexts that deal with the maintenance and replacement of critical parts.

Análise de Impactos Harmônicos em Rede de Distribuição de Energia Elétrica de Média Tensão Utilizando Técnicas de Inteligência Computacional
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) Rivanildo Duarte Almeida; Jandecy Cabral Leite
The growing demand for electrical energy and the increased use of non-linear loads in distribution systems have intensified the generation of harmonic distortions, compromising the quality of the energy supplied. This work presents an analysis of the harmonic impacts on medium-voltage electrical energy distribution networks, using computational intelligence techniques for modeling, simulation and diagnosis. Methods based on artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms were applied to identify and mitigate harmonic distortions, providing an efficient and automated approach for electrical energy quality control. The results demonstrate the feasibility of applying these techniques, evidencing improvements in the identification of distortions and in the definition of strategies to minimize their adverse effects on the electrical system.

Análise de tempos e métodos para redução da variabilidade de desperdício no processo de produção: estudo de caso
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) SILVA, João; SOUZA, Maria
This study investigates the application of time analysis techniques and methods to reduce waste and improve efficiency in production processes. Using a case study in an industrial company, tools such as the Yamazumi diagram and the GBO chart were adopted to identify and minimize variations that result in wasted time and resources. The results demonstrate a 37.5% increase in labor efficiency, reduced operating costs, and improved product quality. In addition, the implementation of lean production practices contributed to a change in organizational culture, encouraging a more structured approach to continuous process optimization. The study concludes that the adoption of analysis and continuous improvement methodologies can bring significant benefits to the industry, recommending future research focused on balancing operations, improving workplace ergonomics, and applying the Kaizen method.

Sistema Automático de Balanceamento de Unidades Consumidoras Monofásicas Conectadas na Rede de Distribuição de Baixa Tensão
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) Alex Sander Leocádio Dias; Manoel Henrique Reis Nascimento
The dissertation presents an automatic system for load balancing in single-phase consumer units connected to the low-voltage distribution network. The objective is to minimize imbalances between phases, reducing technical losses and improving the efficiency of the electrical system. To this end, an approach based on fuzzy logic is used, which allows real-time decision-making to redistribute loads between phases. The study includes simulations and tests in a controlled environment, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method in optimizing load balancing. The results indicate that the system can significantly contribute to improving the quality of the electrical energy supplied, reducing voltage variations and increasing the useful life of the network equipment.

Implementação de Medidas e Uso de um Software Supervisório na Eficiência Energética de um Sistema de Refrigeração Industrial
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2023) RAABE, Matheus Arthur; SILVA, Pedro Luiz
This paper aims to present the results of implementing a set of energy efficiency measures, supported by a supervisory software, in an industrial refrigeration system installed in a dairy factory. The study involved the collection and analysis of electric energy consumption data, equipment operation, and identification of improvement opportunities. With the implementation of actions such as evaporation temperature control, optimization of compressor operation, and the introduction of maintenance routines, a significant reduction in energy consumption and improvement in system reliability was observed. The results demonstrate the potential for energy and operational gains through the use of automation and supervision technologies in industrial processes.

This paper analyzes the application of the Basic Production Process (BPP) rules, focusing on the Control of Points and Parts (CPPs) in the industrialized motorcycle sector in Brazil. The BPP is a minimum set of manufacturing operations required by the Brazilian government for industrialized products to benefit from tax incentives, especially in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. The case study examines how these rules affect the motorcycle production process, highlighting the challenges faced by companies in their implementation, the impacts on the production chain and the importance of the CPPs as an instrument for monitoring and controlling compliance with the production stages. The research shows that the correct application of the BPP and CPP rules is essential to guarantee tax benefits and stimulate regional industrial development, while promoting companies' competitiveness and legal compliance.
