A Falha da Utilização do Ciclo de Deming no Monitoramento dos Processos em uma Indústria Metalúrgica
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) ALBUQUERQUE, Ananélia Claudia Rodrigues de Queiroz; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; OLIVEIRA, Rosimeire Freires Pereira; OLIVEIRA, Sidney dos Santos; Eduardo de Magalhães Braga
The study examines the application of the Deming Cycle (PDCA) in monitoring the production processes of a metallurgical company in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). Through direct observation, questionnaires, and interviews, it was found that although the PDCA is used in strategic planning, its monitoring phase (Check) is not effectively implemented, leading to high rates of defective parts and increased production costs. The research emphasizes the need for rigorous follow-up of PDCA stages to ensure continuous improvements and operational efficiency.

Desenvolvimento de um Modelo Matemático para a Avaliação da Eficiência da Combustão em Usinas Termoelétricas Operando com Gás e Alternando com Diesel
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) AZEVEDO, Manoel S. Santos; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; CARVAJAL, Tirso Lorenzo Reyes; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano Moya; RICO, Iván Leandro Rodriguez; DÍAZ, Pablo Romélio Roque; GOMES, Paulo Cezar Rocha.; Prof Dr. Walter Barra Junior
The article presents a mathematical model developed to evaluate combustion efficiency in thermoelectric power plants operating with natural gas (NG) and alternating with diesel (HFO). The study was conducted in a plant transitioning to dual-fuel use, aiming to optimize energy efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. The model covers stoichiometric, thermodynamic, and kinetic aspects of combustion, implemented in software for real-time analysis. Results demonstrated the model's feasibility in predicting engine performance and optimizing specific fuel consumption, with practical applications in plant operation.
