The developed methodology aims to optimize performance and introduce improvements in the energy generation process, based on a case study conducted at an Eletrobrás Amazonas Energia plant. Using power quality analyzers and decision tree techniques, the work quantifies the total harmonic distortion (THD) and identifies the most impactful harmonics, such as the 5th and 7th orders, generated by non-linear loads. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the applied methodology to anticipate future regulations and improve energy quality.Item Análisis estadístico comparativo de propiedades de aceites lubricantes usados en motores de combustión interna de una planta de generación eléctrica(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2022) MARTÍNEZ OLIVARES, Adriana Cecilia; LORENZO ZÁRRAGA, Marcos Daniel; SALAZAR MARTÍNEZ, José EnriqueThis work presents a comparative statistical study of the physicochemical properties of used lubricating oil samples from internal combustion engines in an electric power generation plant. The analysis is based on laboratory tests performed on 44 samples to determine the statistical significance of differences between oil brands and their relation to usage time. Normality tests, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Tukey tests are used, revealing significant variations in properties such as viscosity, acid number, and metal content. The results support the hypothesis that lubricant performance depends on both the brand and the operating conditions.Item Analysis of lubricating oil in internal combustion engines of electrical power generation plant. The study proposes a system based on linguistic variables such as stock level and demand, using membership functions and fuzzy rules to assist in decision-making regarding supply, replenishment, and bidding. The proposed algorithm analyzes and detects harmonic components exceeding 5% of the fundamental coefficient, designing customized filters. Physical-chemical and electrical properties of the oil were evaluated and compared with technical standards (ABNT NBR 15422) and commercial oils (BIOTEMP®, ENVIROTEMP® FR3™). Results indicated that andiroba oil has suitable viscosity and density, is biodegradable, and non-corrosive. However, specific treatments are required to adjust parameters such as water content and dielectric strength. It was concluded that andiroba oil is a viable candidate for transformer applications, leveraging renewable resources from the Amazon.Item Aspectos Importantes na Utilização de Bombas Centrífugas em Velocidade Variável para a Redução do Consumo de Energia(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2006) MESQUITA, André L. It covers theoretical principles, technological aspects, and economic feasibility, employing frequency inverters to adjust flow according to demand. Two case studies illustrate the method's effectiveness: parallel pump operation and tank level control. Results show significant energy savings with short financial payback, emphasizing the need for technical and economic analysis for implementation.Item Avaliação da Influência do Efluente Gerado por uma Termoelétrica Lançado em um Corpo D’água – Estudo Caso na UTE Manauara – Manaus/AM(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2015) FRANÇA, Alcimar de Jesus; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de; QUARESMA, João Nazareno NonatoThe study evaluated the influence of effluent generated by the Manauara Thermoelectric Power Plant (UTE) in Manaus/AM on the São João community stream. Parameters such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) were analyzed to determine the effluent's biodegradability and the efficiency of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETE). Results showed that the ETE complies with CONAMA 430/2011, with removal rates exceeding 60%. The shift to natural gas (NG) as an energy source improved effluent quality, and the COD/BOD ratio indicated significant biodegradability in the stream. It was concluded that the UTE's effluent does not significantly contribute to water contamination.
