This paper describes procedures related to the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Predictive Maintenance (MP) strategies in an electric power generation plant. The developed methodology aims to optimize performance and introduce improvements in the energy generation process, based on a case study conducted at an Eletrobrás Amazonas Energia plant. The results include a reduction in Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), demonstrating the effectiveness of the applied techniques.

This study analyzes the impacts of current harmonics on the electrical grid of an electronics industry in the Manaus Industrial Park, focusing on the manufacturing of computers, notebooks, and tablets. Using power quality analyzers and decision tree techniques, the work quantifies the total harmonic distortion (THD) and identifies the most impactful harmonics, such as the 5th and 7th orders, generated by non-linear loads. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the applied methodology to anticipate future regulations and improve energy quality.

This work presents a comparative statistical study of the physicochemical properties of used lubricating oil samples from internal combustion engines in an electric power generation plant. The analysis is based on laboratory tests performed on 44 samples to determine the statistical significance of differences between oil brands and their relation to usage time. Normality tests, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Tukey tests are used, revealing significant variations in properties such as viscosity, acid number, and metal content. The results support the hypothesis that lubricant performance depends on both the brand and the operating conditions.

(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2014) POZO-MOREJÓN, Juan A.; MARTINEZ-JIMENEZ, Boris L.; RODRÍGUEZ-RICO, Iván L.; MARTINEZ-MARTINEZ, Reinaldo; HERRERA-ARTILES, Arnaldo M.; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral.; BATISTA, Clauderino da Silva
This study implements an integrated analysis procedure for lubricating oil in stationary diesel engines of an electric power generation plant, using the SACODE methodology with modifications to variable limits and evaluation of kinematic viscosity and TBN through Fuzzy logic. The method was automated by the SOFTLUB software, developed in MATLAB, enabling the monitoring of historical parameters, predicting future behaviors, and supporting maintenance decision-making.

The article presents the application of Fuzzy Logic in the inventory management of a public organization, aiming to reduce material shortages caused by lead time. The study proposes a system based on linguistic variables such as stock level and demand, using membership functions and fuzzy rules to assist in decision-making regarding supply, replenishment, and bidding. The results demonstrate the method's feasibility for optimizing inventory control and minimizing costs.

Aplicação de Filtro Harmônico em Sistemas Elétricos de Baixa Tensão utilizando Lógica Fuzzy
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2010) CIRINO, Weverson dos Santos; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; COSTA JUNIOR, Carlos Tavares da; TOSTES, Maria Emilia de Lima; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
The article discusses the application of passive harmonic filters in low-voltage electrical systems to mitigate distortions caused by harmonics, using Fuzzy Logic. The proposed algorithm analyzes and detects harmonic components exceeding 5% of the fundamental coefficient, designing customized filters. The methodology includes computational simulations and validation according to IEC standards, demonstrating effectiveness in reducing distortions and improving power quality.

Aplicação de Óleo Vegetal de Andiroba (Carapa guianensis) como Fluido Dielétrico em Transformadores de Potência
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2013) PINTO, Vagner Barroso; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; FUJIYAMA, Roberto Tetsuo; LOPES, Raimundo Valdan Pereira; BRITO JUNIOR, Jorge Almeida; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
The study investigated the use of andiroba vegetable oil (Carapa guianensis) as an alternative dielectric fluid in power transformers, aiming to replace petroleum-derived mineral oils. Physical-chemical and electrical properties of the oil were evaluated and compared with technical standards (ABNT NBR 15422) and commercial oils (BIOTEMP®, ENVIROTEMP® FR3™). Results indicated that andiroba oil has suitable viscosity and density, is biodegradable, and non-corrosive. However, specific treatments are required to adjust parameters such as water content and dielectric strength. It was concluded that andiroba oil is a viable candidate for transformer applications, leveraging renewable resources from the Amazon.

Aspectos Importantes na Utilização de Bombas Centrífugas em Velocidade Variável para a Redução do Consumo de Energia
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2006) MESQUITA, André L. Amarante; SILVA, Lázaro J. S. da; ABRAHAM JÚNIOR, Otávio; PEREIRA, José Almir; R. SILVA, Aldo Cezar P.; BATISTA, Clauderino da Silva
The study examines the use of variable speed centrifugal pumps as a solution to reduce energy consumption in water supply systems. It covers theoretical principles, technological aspects, and economic feasibility, employing frequency inverters to adjust flow according to demand. Two case studies illustrate the method's effectiveness: parallel pump operation and tank level control. Results show significant energy savings with short financial payback, emphasizing the need for technical and economic analysis for implementation.

Avaliação da Influência do Efluente Gerado por uma Termoelétrica Lançado em um Corpo D’água – Estudo Caso na UTE Manauara – Manaus/AM
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2015) FRANÇA, Alcimar de Jesus; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de; QUARESMA, João Nazareno Nonato
The study evaluated the influence of effluent generated by the Manauara Thermoelectric Power Plant (UTE) in Manaus/AM on the São João community stream. Parameters such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) were analyzed to determine the effluent's biodegradability and the efficiency of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETE). Results showed that the ETE complies with CONAMA 430/2011, with removal rates exceeding 60%. The shift to natural gas (NG) as an energy source improved effluent quality, and the COD/BOD ratio indicated significant biodegradability in the stream. It was concluded that the UTE's effluent does not significantly contribute to water contamination.
