Item IMPACTOS AMBIENTAIS CAUSADOS PELA FALTA DE FOSSAS SÉPTICAS NA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO BAIRRO DE EDUCANDOS(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2023) WAUGHAN, Aldeisy de Fátima Monteiro; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe study "Environmental Impacts Caused by the Lack of Septic Tanks in the Educandos Neighborhood Watershed", by Aldeisy de Fátima Monteiro Waughan, under the supervision of Jandecy Cabral Leite, analyzes the environmental impacts resulting from the lack of adequate sanitation infrastructure in the Educandos region. The research highlights how the lack of septic tanks and basic sanitation systems contributes to the contamination of water, soil and the increase in waterborne diseases. Using an approach based on data collection and environmental quality analysis, the study identifies the main sources of pollution and their effects on the local watershed. The results indicate that pollution caused by irregular sewage dumping compromises aquatic biodiversity, creates risks to public health and reduces the population's quality of life. The study suggests measures such as the implementation of effective public policies, community awareness and the construction of septic tanks as solutions to mitigate these impacts. The work concludes that the adoption of adequate sanitation systems in the region is essential to reduce environmental degradation and ensure the sustainability of water resources.Item Utilização do Bloco de Concreto em Construção de Empreendimentos: Um Estudo de Caso(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) BARROS, Íris Vargas; BRAGA, Eduardo de MagalhãesThe general objective of this dissertation was to analyze in two companies in the city of Manaus how the production process of concrete blocks is characterized, demonstrating their technical viability of production. About the methodology, it is a case study carried out in Companies A and B, located in the city of Manaus, whose main activity is the production of concrete blocks and visits to two works (Supermarket X and Condominium Y) that used concrete blocks in their constructions. The results reveal that the advantages of the blocks could be verified in the buildings, emphasizing that one of the main advantages is that they are leaked and allow the passage of pipes and pipes for electrical and hydraulic installations.Item Análise Espacial do Crime Ambiental em Manaus no Período de 2014-2017(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2018) BARBOSA, Samara Moreira; Dr. Cláudio Nahum Alves; Dr. Thierry GasnierThe research aimed to identify environmental crimes in Manaus based on police reports from the Civil Police in the Integrated Public Security System of Amazonas between 2014 and 2017. It was hypothesized that there was a relationship between crime, population density, and human development indicators. The police records were georeferenced and analyzed using ArcGIS software, enabling the creation of maps that highlight the spatial distribution of environmental crimes. The main offenses were related to fauna and flora, with a direct relationship between population density and environmental crime rates. The results indicate the need for integrated public policies to combat environmental crimes in the Amazon region.Item Avaliação da Qualidade das Águas Superficiais do Igarapé do Coroado na Cidade de Manaus - Amazonas(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2019) CRUZ, Rodrigo Silva da; Prof. Dr. Marcelo de Oliveira LimaDisorderly population growth and urban expansion have impacted the environmental quality of water ecosystems. The Igarapé do Coroado in Manaus receives rainwater and untreated sewage, affecting its quality. The study analyzed physicochemical and microbiological parameters to assess environmental degradation. Samples were collected at five strategic points in different periods of the day. Results indicated contamination above the standards established by CONAMA 357/2005, compromising the biota and public health. The study highlights the need for public policies for the recovery and preservation of urban water resources.Item CONCEPÇÕES E AÇÕES SOCIOAMBIENTAIS: Indicadores de sustentabilidade nas empresas de comunicação televisiva de massa na cidade de Manaus - Amazonas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) BARBOSA JÚNIOR, Paulo Cândido; Prof. Dr. Cláudio Nahum AlvesThe transformation operated by human actions reflects the urgent need for changes in the way business is conducted and wealth is generated. In this context, sustainable development takes on a central role in corporate strategies. This study investigates the perception of managers from mass television communication companies in Manaus regarding sustainability, based on their socio-environmental practices. The methodology employed a qualitative-quantitative approach, using questionnaires applied to managers from four companies in the sector. The results indicate a general lack of knowledge about sustainability and socio-environmental development as a business strategy, although some managers show personal interest in the subject. Only one company presented concrete signs of commitment to sustainable development.Item Sistema de Informação Georrefenciado para apoio a Pesquisa Acadêmica e ao Planejamento Urbano, Projeto PROSAMIM-1(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) FERREIRA, Jose Ednaldo Zane; LIMA, Aline Maria Meiguins deInformation systems applied to urban planning allow better territory management, through the composing units' spatial distribution and a view of their interrelation. The aim of this study was to develop an information system of the areas of the Social and Environmental Program and Streams of Manaus - PROSAMIM-1 that could help its sizing in Manaus-AM. The PROSAMIM-1 is one of the most significant environmental project over the last 50 years executed in the Manaus city, and its impact should be publicly disseminated, thus allowing greater social interaction design. The information system designed also has the function of acting as a repository for the registration of its historical evolution. The methodology is associated with applied research, with the systematization of project information, derived bases and records produced by the responsible organs and its organization in a consultative mechanism and georeferenced web search. The product created enabled the visual location of PROSAMIM-1 areas and propose actions to assist the strategic and urban planning on its surrounding areas.Item Desafios de Gestão do Parque Municipal do Mindu (Manaus-AM)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) SILVA, Iria Maria Pádua da; FENZL, NorbertParks are of great importance for society in general, and maintaining a protected area in an urban area is synonymous with quality of life for the population, which is already recognized in the environmental field. This work aims to understand the challenges of managing a conservation unit and its relationship with the community; collect data on the park manager’s actions concerning preservation; and investigate the operation of the park within the urban perimeter of Manaus, the capital of the State of Amazonas. It intends to investigate and compare indicators such as surrounding residents, visitors, and employees, demonstrate the importance of a protected area for the city’s population, providing information with a view to strengthening the debate for further research concerning the social and environmental importance of a protected area in urban areas, with the main focus of the study being the Mindu Municipal Park itself. The treatment of each indicator, community, employees, visitors, and manager makes clear the seriousness of the research and the accuracy of the results. As a result, there is a committed team, a manager who uses the appropriate management tools and applies them clearly and defined in team activities, leading this unit to serve as a model for other protected areas in the city of Manaus.Item GESTÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS GERADOS EM EDIFICAÇÕES VERTICAIS.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018) MOREIRA, Leandro Cabral Marques.; MONTEIRO, Waldinei Rosa.The research analyzes the importance of solid waste management in civil construction, considering its environmental and socioeconomic impact. Civil construction represents a significant portion of the national GDP and generates a high volume of solid waste, whose inadequate disposal can cause environmental damage. The study proposes an environmental management plan for vertical buildings in the city of Manaus, aiming to reduce construction and demolition waste (CDW) and monitor its final destination, balancing progress and the environment.Item Gestão Ambiental dos Empreendimentos voltados ao Mercado Estético/Cosmético na Área Urbana de Manaus - AM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) TEIXEIRA, Lúcia Helena de Oliveira Leão; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de MacêdoThe projects focused on the aesthetic and cosmetic market sectors represent one of the most economically developed areas, driven by social, cultural, and technological factors. This study aimed to characterize and identify the most relevant environmental aspects and impacts generated by these enterprises in the urban area of Manaus, proposing attitudes for environmental practices and waste management actions. The research was conducted in small and medium-sized enterprises using questionnaires and observations. The results indicated that negative environmental impacts are related to uncontrolled water consumption, energy inefficiency, generation of liquid effluents, and fragility in solid waste management. It is concluded that control measures involve public and private interests, including adequate sanitation and selective waste collection.Item Saúde e Meio Ambiente: Uma Abordagem Acerca do Saneamento Básico e Seu Impacto na Saúde Pública do Município de Manaus/AM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019) RODRIGUES, Sara Leão; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThe present study focuses on the relationship between health and the environment, addressing the basic sanitation situation in the city of Manaus, verifying the main variables and determinants that influence the health-disease process, such as water supply, sanitation facilities, and garbage collection. The study correlates the occurrence of diseases related to inadequate basic sanitation and its impact on public health, analyzing the incidence of diseases and health issues arising from this inadequacy. The research is bibliographic and documentary, using qualitative and quantitative methods, with electronic data collection from official databases such as DATASUS, IBGE, and SNIS. The objective is to verify the urban public health situation in Manaus, from the perspective of environmental sanitation conditions, analyzing public health expenditures, and proposing solutions to the main problems detected.
