This study proposes a sustainable alternative energy generation through methane gas from the landfill in Manaus, based on municipal data. The methodology included field research and analysis of solid waste data. Results indicate that Manaus generates approximately 2,632.156 t/day of solid waste.Item Educação Ambiental na Saúde e seus Resíduos Sólidos: Uma Prática Interdisciplinar(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2020) ABREU, Luiz Claudio Santos de; LIMA, Marcelo OliveiraEnvironmental education arises from the need to portray the environment, bringing a new way of reading reality and acting on it. This study conducts a bibliographic review on the importance of environmental education in health units, focusing on the management of health service waste (RSS). The research was conducted using databases such as SciELO and VHL, identifying the need to integrate environmental education in an interdisciplinary manner into the daily routine of health professionals. It is concluded that environmental education and the correct disposal of RSS are essential to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainability in hospital units.Item Análise dos Indicadores de Desempenho da Educação Ambiental para Efetivação dos Sistemas de Coleta dos Resíduos Sólidos do PROSAMIM Cajual(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2019) DIAS, Kleber Braga; LEITE, Jandecy CabralEnvironmental education is the main instrument of transformation, being fundamental for the development of critical opinion in relation to the environment, generating commitment of the population in environmental actions. This work analyzed the performance indicators of environmental education for the implementation of solid waste collection systems of PROSAMIM Cajual. The research was conducted through data analysis collected through bibliographic, field, and documentary research. The results showed that environmental education is compromised in what tends to increase the degradation of streams and soil, affecting the quality of life of the population.Item Análise da Destinação dos Resíduos Sólidos Produzidos Numa Escola Pública da Cidade de Manaus(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019) SOUZA, Marcos Antonio Rodrigues de; Prof. Dr. Davi do Socorro Barros Brasil; Me. Tereza Rodrigues Felipe CabralChanges in teaching and learning activities in public schools, combined with consumerism generated by capitalism, have turned school units into spaces conducive to solid waste generation, causing environmental problems. This research aimed to promote the proper environmental disposal of waste generated in a public school in Manaus, encouraging reduction, reuse, and recycling. The adopted methodology was a descriptive and exploratory action research with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results indicate the need for proper waste management to minimize environmental impacts.Item Estudo sobre a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos: Da Coleta ao Descarte no Aterro Sanitário da Cidade de Manaus(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2018) SANTOS, Roniê Oliveira dos; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThe research seeks to demonstrate the importance of environmental management in the collection and disposal of solid waste in the urban area of Manaus. Law No. 12.305/10, which instituted the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), contains important instruments to enable the country to advance in the face of major environmental, social, and economic problems arising from the inadequate handling of solid waste. This research addresses the disposal of solid waste in the urban area of the city of Manaus, in view of what environmental law provides on the disposal of solid waste. The methodological nature of this research is exploratory, aiming at the approximation of the theme and seeking greater familiarity with environmental law and access to existing reports in the secretariats of the city of Manaus. This situation highlights the need for alternatives for the management of this issue, aiming to protect society, the use of reverse logistics becomes an option. In the Amazon, this problem is a fact and the need to solve it is urgent. The demands for health services arising from population growth have also generated an increase in the discharge of health service waste. This situation is exacerbated by the absence of projects that facilitate the reuse of the same as well as effective planning in management. The proposal analyzed in this paper addresses the physical, chemical, and microbiological characterization of medical waste generated in various areas of a health care facility and the use of reverse logistics for its disposal. Note the concern with the reduction, generation, and segregation correctly, as well as packaging, identification, and collection, showing that the unit searched generates around 15,907 kg/day of waste class D that can be reused through reverse logistics.
