Item Aplicação de SMED em um Processo SMT: Estudo de Caso(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) UHLMANN, Iraeyanne Retto; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; SOUZA, José Antônio da Silva; Prof Dr. Walter Barra JuniorThe study presents the application of the lean SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) tool in an SMT (Surface Mount Technology) process at a multinational company in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The goal was to reduce the average set up time by over 50%, using the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Results showed a reduction from 31.5 to 12.26 minutes, achieving single-digit times (9.01 minutes), along with improvements in productivity, flexibility, and team morale.Item Redução do Custo e Ganho Financeiro com a Diminuição do Tempo de Setup: Estudo de Caso em Injetoras de 800 Toneladas(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) SOUZA, Elcimar Corrêa de; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano MoyaThis study presents a procedure to reduce setup time in 800-ton injection molding machines at a company in the Manaus Industrial Hub, using the SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) method. The research shows that reducing setup time to less than 15 minutes, combined with a continuous improvement system, led to financial gains exceeding R$ 200,000.00, along with improvements in productivity, quality, and safety.Item Aplicação da Metodologia de Troca Rápida de Ferramenta em Faceadeira na Produção Seriada de Eixos de Transmissão(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) SILVA NETO, Milton Fernandes da; José Antônio da Silva SouzaApplication of Quick Tool Change Methodology in Facing Machine for Serial Production of Transmission Shafts. Market globalization impacts all segments of the modern world, with competitiveness among product and service providers being a relevant factor. This study analyzes how process improvement in machining, through machine device optimization and industrial automation, affects the industry and operational costs. The research was applied to a factory producing motorcycle industry components, focusing on reducing setup time and scrap through the implementation of a new adjustment device. The results showed a significant reduction in setup time and the number of rejected parts, demonstrating the effectiveness of the SMED methodology in optimizing the production process.
