The analysis revealed that the 7-period moving average yielded the lowest mean squared error, predicting approximately 20 cases for the first half of 2015. The results underscore the importance of statistical tools for public health policy planning, particularly in regions with high tuberculosis incidence, such as the Amazon.Item Navegabilidade do Rio Solimões no trecho compreendido entre Manaus-Coari(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2017) SANTOS, Carlos Alberto dos; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe study evaluates the navigability of the Solimões River in the stretch between Manaus and Coari, highlighting critical factors influencing fluvial transport, such as sandbanks, landslides, and seasonal flow variations. Based on field surveys and geographic analyses, the research identifies three critical navigation points and describes the types of vessels operating in the region. The results contribute to understanding the challenges of waterway transport in the Amazon, especially during low-water periods.Item Acúmulo de Materiais Orgânicos nas Estruturas Navais dos Terminais Hidroviários de Manicoré, Parintins, Manacapuru e Humaitá no Estado do Amazonas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) HARTZ, Alessandra Guimarães; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique ReisThis study aimed to diagnose the causes of the recurring problem of organic material accumulation in the naval structures of the waterway terminals in Manacapuru, Humaitá, Parintins, and Manicoré, in the state of Amazonas. The study identified that the problem occurs because the project designs do not consider the fluvial water system and the geography of the region. During the flood season, the accumulation of organic matter in the terminal structures causes environmental and operational damage. The methodology used was bibliographic and documentary research, with a case study. It is concluded that an efficient and low-cost solution is needed to mitigate the effects of organic material accumulation.Item Análise dos Focos Ativos e Áreas de Desmatamentos na Amazônia Legal no Período de 1999 a 2018(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2020) NASCIMENTO, Sônia Araújo; SANTOS, Lourivaldo da SilvaThe present study analyzes the series of active fire outbreaks and deforested areas and their comparison between states in the Legal Amazon, from 1999 to 2018. The objective of the research is to analyze the active fire outbreaks and deforested areas of the Legal Amazon, in order to understand their evolution and behavior through space and time. This study addresses descriptive and exploratory data surveys, with bibliographic and documentary research. Data were available on the website of the National Institute of Space Research (INPE). The active fire outbreaks were analyzed monthly, arranged in biennia and annually, and then compared between states. Deforestation was analyzed state by state and between them. One concludes the states of Mato Grosso, Pará and Rondônia to have the highest concentrations of active fire outbreaks. The months with the highest occurrence of fire outbreaks are August-September, months of dry season with little rainfall, except for the state of Roraima, where fire outbreaks occur from November to April, since it lies on the equator. Regarding the deforested areas in the Legal Amazon, it was observed that most states had a reduction in deforestation between 2005 and 2012. It is noteworthy that environmental policies contributed to the reduction through the creation of the National System of Conservation Units (SNUC) and its undertaking itself; this period also coincided with the creation of the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation. However, there was an increasing oscillation from 2012 onwards, and one must point out to there also have been a change in the Forest Code legislation during this same period. The causes of active fire outbreaks and deforested areas are mainly due to human activities, most often related to soil management for large-scale agriculture and cattle raising as well as urban sprawl, in the Legal Amazon.Item A Importância da Literatura Infanto-Juvenil como Instrumento Formador de Reflexão para a Educação Ambiental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019) MAGALHÃES, Victor Hugo de Oliveira; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosOne of the objectives of Environmental Education (EE) is to train critical citizens who can fight for their rights and understand their duties, understand the importance of interpersonal relations and the preservation of the cultural and environmental environment. In a conception of transformative EE, school education is an environment of social change, where there is a transformation associated with values, cognitive patterns, democratic political action and economic relations. Although not solely responsible for this, the school prepares the new generations for the challenges of the world, as it can and should contribute to the formation and stimulation of citizen criticality and awareness of the population about social and environmental problems. Added to this is reading, which plays an important role in the formation of the subject, as it contributes to its reflective and transformative construction, since the child, when inserted in the world of reading, makes discoveries and later broadens the understanding of himself and herself. of the world around her. Thus, the objective was to produce three books (collection) of children and youth literature with Amazonian themes and environmental themes related to the region to encourage the formation of reflective students and sustainable practices. A qualitative methodology was used, with an exploratory and descriptive approach in addition to the bibliographic and documentary research that will support the elaboration and production of children's books. The reading of the works found was performed and their main results were subsequently emphasized together with the elaborated stories of the proposed collection. It is noteworthy that through the literature raised, that the truly transformative Environmental Education does not worry or prioritize the contents to be passed ("environmental"), but rather works with the construction of new ethical values, aesthetics and a conception of production. and work closer to the artistic way than the hegemonic ideas of productivity. In this sense, art enables a dialogue with the values and worldviews it brings.Item A construção de Barragens na Amazônia e a inundação de Vilas Ribeirinhas: Elementos para a Gestão Socioambiental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) BRITO, Sâmia de Oliveira; ROCHA, Gilberto de MirandaThis academic paper aims to contribute to the researches and studies related to the area of production of electricity in Brazil as well it works as a reflective analysis about the viability, the technical issues, plans, actions and a variation of impacts caused by those enterprises. The relevance of this subject is based in the complexity through the relation between the progress in the country and impacts suffered by these locations such as a city, a state or a community. Trying to understand better in how it works, the village Mutum Paraná, flooded by The Power Plant UHE Jirau in Rondonia, was chosen. Many different aspects that deal with these specific types of projects will be explored in this paper. The research was divided in some periods: At the beginning, the study about the viability and the elaboration of the project through the analysis of chemical and physical characteristics of the Madeira River was made as well the waterway data of the construction. The next step treats, specifically, the physical characteristics of the engineering dam system such as the planning for the construction, the execution of the work and the technical data. Substantiating what we consider as the main goal, the whole process of the foundation of the dam was observed. Concluding the study, the socioeconomics and environmental characteristics of the Village Mutum Parana were debated before the construction of Jirau Dam. The results were based on the process of population relocation to Nova Village Mutum, its characteristics and the social programs offered to this community, which are now with a new cultural, economic, social and environmental interface. The methodology used in this work was a literature review, visits, technical meeting and interviews about the flooded villages as a consequence of human actions. This academic paper treats specifically the socioeconomics and environmental changes occurred in that location and to those riverside population in Vila Mutum Parana in Rondonia who were drastically damaged by the construction of the Dam UHE Jirau.Item Análise Estratégica da Estrutura Logística no Comando Militar da Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018) CUSTÓDIO, Jonatan Almeida; OLIVEIRA, Kleber BittencourtThe dissertation presents a strategic planning proposal for the implementation of a new logistics structure for the Military Command of the Amazon (CMA). The study details the current logistic situation in the CMA, explains the strategic planning for implementing the new structure, and defines the minimum requirements necessary for its evolution. The methodology includes the use of quality tools such as Scatter Chart, Ishikawa Diagram, and Pareto Chart to identify factors contributing to logistic failures. The results show that the application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in supply operations minimized errors and optimized supply chain efficiency.
