Item Modelagem de Sistema de Combate a Incêndio em Terminal Aquaviário de Petróleo e GLP Baseado em Redes de Petri Coloridas(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) VALDA, Luiz Henrique Carneiro; LEITE, Jandecy CabralFire-fighting systems (FFS) are critical to the safety of industrial oil and gas facilities, aiming to preserve physical integrity and personnel safety. This work applies mechatronic concepts to model and analyze an FFS in a waterway terminal transporting oil and gas, using Discrete Event Systems (DES) theory and Colored Petri Nets (CPN). The work demonstrates the benefits of TPM, such as increased Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reduced breakdowns, and process optimization through autonomous maintenance. Tools such as RULA and Sue Rodgers were applied to assess postures and identify musculoskeletal injuries. Energy and exergy balances were performed in exchangers using live steam and regenerative steam, with significant losses identified in exchangers 4 and 5. The case study focuses on the thermoforming process of thermoplastic resin plates, highlighting the tool's benefits in operational management.Item Análise Energética do Sistema de Resfriamento de uma Planta de Compressores de Ar Modelo ZH9000(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2015) FREIRE, Wildemar de Aguiar; BRAGA, Eduardo de MagalhãesThis study evaluates the cooling system of ZH9000 air compressors in an alumina refinery, addressing overheating and energy inefficiency. The proposed solution involves plate heat exchangers to isolate the water circuit, minimizing contamination and enhancing thermal performance. Tools such as value stream mapping, work cells, Kanban system, and lean internal logistics were employed. The results showed a 37% productivity increase in 2014 and 28% in 2015, along with a reduction in operational costs above 10%. The work emphasizes the importance of standardization, visual management, and employee engagement for sustaining the achieved gains.Item Home Automation with Web Control Based on Java Applets: Automação Residencial com Controle Via Web Baseado em Applets De Java(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) VALDA, Luiz H. C.; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; QUARESMA, João Nazareno NonatoThe purpose of this work is to present concepts of systems integration, involving computational, electronic, civil, and mechanical areas directed to domotics and its benefits, focused on remote control performed through the Internet. The proposed system includes lighting control functions, using switches that allow the control of light intensity, enabling the implementation of scenarios with scenic lighting. The solution uses Java applets for Web control, demonstrating how it is possible to manage automated residential systems in an accessible and relatively low-cost manner.
