Given the challenges faced by public schools in the state of Amazonas in offering quality educational services, it is essential to adopt innovative approaches to diagnose problems, propose solutions and promote improvements. The lean concept, originally developed in the industrial sector with a focus on eliminating waste and optimizing processes, is a suitable methodology for improving educational services. This study proposes the application of lean principles and tools with the aim of increasing the quality of the services provided, reducing costs and increasing the satisfaction of those primarily involved in the educational process, analyzing their effectiveness in the context of public schools in Amazonas. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with employees of the institutions, with the aim of identifying waste that impacts on the services provided. Based on the analysis, a framework was developed with practical recommendations for implementing lean in schools, offering an accessible solution that aims to promote process optimization and continuous improvement in the educational environment.

Análise dos Desafios na Transição para Indústria 4.0: Um Estudo Sobre a Integração de Sistemas de Custeio em Ambientes Automatizados
(Instituto de Tecnologia e Educação Galileo da Amazônia, 2025) SILVA, Maeli Oliveira da; FILHO, Nelson Marinelli; GUIMARÃES, Gil Eduardo; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; FERREIRA, Matheus Rissardi; Jandecy Cabral Leite
This paper analyzes the challenges faced during the transition from traditional costing systems to absorption costing systems in the context of Industry 4.0. Through the analysis of heat maps applied to an industrial costing spreadsheet for electronic components, the study identifies and categorizes inconsistencies that reflect broader structural challenges of industrial digital transformation. The results reveal seven critical categories of inconsistencies: interoperability issues, complexity in the allocation of indirect costs, implementation and maintenance costs, workforce training, real-time data management, compliance and security, and adaptation to the dynamics of Industry 4.0. It was concluded that such inconsistencies represent significant barriers to a successful transition, especially in industries with a high degree of automation.

Additive manufacturing (AM), widely known as 3D printing, emerges as one of the key technologies of Industry 4.0, enabling the production of parts with high geometric complexity and customization. This study investigates how the integration between 3D modeling and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) enhances the efficiency and quality of AM processes. 3D modeling supports detailed simulations of material behavior and manufacturing processes, while ANNs provide predictive analysis and learning from large data volumes, allowing automatic and dynamic adjustments to parameters such as speed, temperature, and fill patterns. The results show significant improvements in reliability, waste reduction, and energy consumption, aligning production with sustainability demands.
