Item Redução do Custo e Ganho Financeiro com a Diminuição do Tempo de Setup: Estudo de Caso em Injetoras de 800 Toneladas(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) SOUZA, Elcimar Corrêa de; RODRIGUEZ, Jorge Laureano MoyaThis study presents a procedure to reduce setup time in 800-ton injection molding machines at a company in the Manaus Industrial Hub, using the SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) method. Market globalization impacts all segments of the modern world, with competitiveness among product and service providers being a relevant factor. This study analyzes how process improvement in machining, through machine device optimization and industrial automation, affects the industry and operational costs. The research was applied to a factory producing motorcycle industry components, focusing on reducing setup time and scrap through the implementation of a new adjustment device. The results showed a significant reduction in setup time and the number of rejected parts, demonstrating the effectiveness of the SMED methodology in optimizing the production process.
