Mejoramiento de los índices de eficiencia energética en sistemas de climatización en el territorio de Manaus
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2012) DA SILVA, Jorge Lucio; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; DE LEÓN BENITEZ, Carlos Alberto; BERALDO HERRANDÉZ, Francisco; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
The climate control systems are among the most significant energy loads in industrial, residential, and service facilities. This research is based on a diagnostic study carried out in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, employing Brazilian national standards as reference models. As an improvement strategy, the adoption of high-efficiency air conditioning systems is proposed to reduce energy consumption.

Melhor aproveitamento da energia elétrica na indústria
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) SOARES, Gerdson Tanaka; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; SOARES, Thiago Mota; Profª. Drª Aline Maria Meiguins de Lima
This paper presents a proposal for an industrial energy management system focused on low-cost actions, based on measurement, recording, control, and automation. Through a case study in a plastics industry located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, it was possible to demonstrate energy savings of up to 35.5%, using the Measurement and Verification (M&V) methodology. The study highlights the importance of integrated management as a tool for energy efficiency, with positive impacts on productivity, cost, and sustainability.

Methodology Proposal for Multicriteria Optimization Using NSGA-II in Industrial Applications
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2023) CASTRO, Anderson de Oliveira; BEZERRA, Ubiratan Holanda; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; AZEVEDO, Manoel Socorro Santos.; Professor Dr. Bernardo Borges Pompeu Neto
The paper proposes a methodology for multicriteria optimization using the NSGA-II genetic algorithm in industrial applications, specifically in the assembly process of electronic components in surface mount technology (SMT) machines. The study addresses problems such as feeder arrangement and head routing, aiming to reduce the total cycle time. The methodology integrates known approaches and applies multi-objective optimization to enhance machine performance, with results validated in a real industrial environment.

This paper presents a methodology applied at the Balbina Hydroelectric Power Plant to diagnose faults in stator windings of hydro generators, using partial discharge monitoring as a predictive maintenance tool. This technique enables the identification of insulation deterioration and supports decision-making based on reliable data, reducing costs, increasing reliability, and avoiding unnecessary maintenance. The methodology allows for more effective maintenance planning, extending equipment lifespan.

Synchronous generators undergo frequent start-stop cycles due to maintenance or external factors, causing thermal variations that affect stator insulation. This study, conducted at the Balbina hydroelectric plant in Amazonas, Brazil, examines insulation aging trends in stators through partial discharge testing. Results indicate that continuous operation increases the generators’ lifespan.

Evolución of the passive harmonic filters optimization problem in industrial power systems
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2014) CABRAL-LEITE, Jandecy; PÉREZ-ABRIL, Ignacio; SANTOS-AZEVEDO, Manoel Socorro; LIMA-TOSTES, Maria Emilia de; HOLANDA-BEZERRA, Ubiratan; Prof Dr. Walter Barra Junior
The paper examines the evolution of optimization formulations for passive harmonic filters in industrial power systems, highlighting the shift from single-objective to multi-objective approaches. Methods such as sequential quadratic programming (SQP), genetic algorithms (GA), and particle swarm optimization (PSO) are reviewed, focusing on cost minimization, harmonic distortion reduction, and energy loss mitigation. The study demonstrates how multi-objective formulations provide more efficient and comprehensive solutions for complex power quality issues.

Frequency scan on a phase-coordinates frame for unbalanced systems
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2012) LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; ABRIL, Ignacio Perez; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; OLIVEIRA, Roberto Célio Limão de; Prof Dr. Walter Barra Junior
This paper presents a method for analyzing unbalanced electric networks using the frequency scan technique in a phase-coordinates frame. The developed model accurately represents unbalanced networks, such as distribution systems with asymmetric transformer banks, single-phase loads, and non-linear elements. The method is implemented in Matlab and tested on a four-wire delta system, demonstrating its effectiveness in identifying resonances and analyzing harmonics.

Otimização Multiobjetivo de Filtros Harmônicos Passivos para Instalações Industriais Usando Técnicas de NSGA-II
(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; ABRIL, Ignacio Perez; AZEVEDO, Manoel Socorro Santos; MEDEIROS, Adelson Bezerra de; NASCIMENTO, Manoel Henrique Reis; VALENZUELA, Walter Andres Vermehren; Prof. Dr. Waldinei Rosa Monteiro.
This paper presents a mathematical method and a computational tool for the selection and sizing of passive harmonic filters in industrial systems using the NSGA-II genetic algorithm. The goal is to maximize the economic benefits of the project, minimize harmonic distortion in the PCC current and bus voltages, and comply with power quality standards (ANEEL and IEEE 519-92). The results demonstrate the method's effectiveness in determining filter parameters, selecting configurations, and addressing multiple operational scenarios.
