Item Estudo de Caso do Abastecimento d’Água da Área Urbana do Município de Santarém no Pará(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) ANDRADE, Elen Conceição Leal de; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; OLIVEIRA, Dênio Ramam Carvalho de; Prof Dr. Walter Barra JuniorThe study assesses water supply in the urban area of Santarém/PA from the users' perspective, highlighting issues such as the lack of water meters, water quality, and migration to private wells. Based on interviews with 612 households, the research revealed that 56.05% of respondents claim not to waste water, while 33% complain about frequent water shortages. The absence of treated water in approximately 20,000 households and the use of unprotected shallow wells are critical issues identified.Item Estudo sobre Vazão Remanescente em Pequenas Bacias do Rio Amazonas(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2012) BRAGA, Etianne Monteiro; BLANCO, Claudio José Cavalcante; Prof. Dr. Carlos Tavares da Costa JúniorThis study proposes a hydrological method to determine remaining flows in small basins of the Amazon River, using the highest value among the minimum annual recorded flows (qmaxmin). Twenty-three fluviometric stations with drainage areas between 100 km² and 1,400 km² were analyzed. The results of the proposed method were compared with other models (Q90%, Q95%, Q7,10, ELETROBRÁS, Tennant/Montana), showing that qmaxmin provides a greater safety margin during dry periods, making it a viable alternative for sustainable water resource management in the region.Item O Potencial de Captação e Abastecimento de Água Pluvial na Comunidade Vila de Lindóia – Município de Itacoatiara/AM(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2015) SILVA, Marcos Maurício Costa da; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; NETO, João Augusto Pereira; LIMA, Aline Maria Meiguins de; Jandecy Cabral Leite"This article assesses the potential for rainwater harvesting for domestic use in the Vila de Lindóia community, Itacoatiara/AM. Fifteen residences were analyzed, considering roof areas, historical rainfall data, and residents' willingness to adopt the system. Results indicate that an area of 23.02 m² per person is sufficient to fully utilize rainwater, with the first flush discarded to ensure quality. The study concludes that implementing this system is feasible and can reduce reliance on traditional water sources, promoting water sustainability in the region."Item Avaliação do sistema de tratamento de esgoto doméstico instalado em empreendimentos da cidade de Manaus(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2015) MARTINS, Adele Guerreiro; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de Macêdo; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThe study evaluated the efficiency and operational activities of three sewage treatment plants (STPs) with MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology in Manaus. Results showed that the STPs comply with legal effluent discharge standards, with average BOD removal rates between 75.8% and 95.1%. The research emphasized the importance of regular maintenance and qualified personnel to ensure system performance, while also identifying challenges such as grease removal and waste management.
