Item Diagnóstico de los factores microestructurales en el proceso de soldadura MIG/MAG que causan averías en los transformadores: estudio de caso(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2012) LOPES, Raimundo Valdan Pereira; COSTA, Otávio Fernandes Limada; FUJIYAMA, Roberto Tetsuo; PINTO, Vagner Barroso; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesThe study examined microstructural factors in the MIG/MAG welding process of 3 mm and 4 mm industrial steel, leading to failures in 500 KVA power transformers. Charpy-V impact tests and microstructural analysis were conducted to correlate microstructure with impact toughness. Results revealed impurities in the weld pool, affecting weld quality and causing leaks of insulating oil.Item Efeito da transformação da microestrutura do aço ao carbono obtido por processos termoquímico a gás(INSTITUTO DE TECNOLOGIA, 2010) MONTEIRO, Alberto de Castro; SILVA, José Antonio de Souza; OLIVEIRA, Macêdo Santos de; DELON, José Alain; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesThe study examined the microstructural transformation of SAE 1020 steel (low carbon) subjected to gaseous carbonitriding thermochemical treatment to enhance wear resistance in helical broaches for pocket lighters. Nitrided and carburized layers were analyzed via optical microscopy and microhardness tests, comparing approved and non-conforming samples. Results showed that ferric nitride presence significantly increased surface hardness, with diffusion layers of 0.14 µm to 0.47 µm (nitrides) and 1.43 µm to 2.76 µm (carbides), complying with NBR NM 136 standards. The process proved effective for applications requiring ductile cores and wear-resistant surfaces.
