This article evaluates the mechanical properties of polyester composites reinforced with short and continuous munguba fibers (Pseudobombax munguba). Tensile tests were conducted for fibers of different lengths (5, 10, and 15 mm) and continuous aligned fibers. Action research was conducted in small and medium-sized beauty salons, identifying issues such as excessive water consumption, energy inefficiency, generation of solid waste, and liquid effluents. Fifteen residences were analyzed, considering roof areas, historical rainfall data, and residents' willingness to adopt the system. Results indicate that an area of 23.02 m² per person is sufficient to fully utilize rainwater, with the first flush discarded to ensure quality. High fuel costs and strict environmental regulations have increased the demand for this technology in the civil sector. This article presents the application advantages of composites in aircraft structures, especially regarding weight reduction, lower operational costs, and environmental, social, and economic impacts. The results indicate that the adoption of photovoltaic technology is a sustainable and economically viable alternative for the airport's energy matrix, contributing to energy efficiency and environmental preservation.Item Captação, Armazenamento e Utilização de Águas Pluviais com o Mínimo de Interferência Manual: Estudo de Caso em um Instituto Federal(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) PALHETA, Pedro Ivan das Graças; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe study proposes an automated system for capturing, storing, and utilizing rainwater at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM) – Manaus Industrial District Campus, aiming to reduce potable water consumption. The system uses photovoltaic panels to power sensors and actuators, ensuring autonomous operation. The reservoir was sized based on historical rainfall data, and preliminary results include the installation of reservoirs and process automation. The captured water is intended for non-potable uses, such as toilet flushing and cleaning, contributing to environmental and economic sustainability.Item Estudo e Avaliação de Máquinas Integradas e Automatizadas para Extração de Óleo Vegetal(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) REIS, Ilmar Duarte dos; BRAGA, EduardoThis dissertation proposes the development of an innovative machine, composed of integrated and automated modules, for extracting vegetable oil from seeds such as andiroba. The aim is to improve oil quality, reduce extraction time, eliminate slave labor, and increase productivity. The study covers processes from seed selection to centrifugation, including automated washing, crushing, and transportation, with temperature and humidity control. The proposal seeks to generate employment and income for rural communities while reducing contamination of the final product.Item Viabilidade da Aplicação de Resíduos da Cerâmica Branca Oriundos da Cidade de Manaus para Produção de Argamassas(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) MELO, José Roberto de Souza; MAGALHÃES, EdilsonThis study proposes the use of white ceramic waste (RCB), generated in the city of Manaus, as a pozzolanic material in mortar production. X-ray fluorescence and diffraction analyses identified the presence of silicon, aluminum, iron, and sodium oxides in proportions that comply with ABNT NBR 12653/1992 standards. Five mixtures with varying proportions of RCB, sand, and cement were tested and evaluated for porosity, water absorption, specific mass, and compressive strength. The results indicated that the produced mortars can be classified as Class PI and P2, according to ABNT NBR 13279, demonstrating the technical feasibility of replacing up to 50% of natural aggregate with RCB, reducing costs and environmental impact.Item Diminuição dos resíduos orgânicos gerados por uma Unidade de Alimentação e Nutrição do Polo Industrial de Manaus: Efeitos de uma campanha de sensibilização(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) GOMIDES, Renata Campos; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThe habit of wasting food is rooted in the national culture, a fact that adds to the reduction of the nutritional proportions offered to thousands of families, becoming more relevant in less affluent populations. This study aimed to describe the relationship between the menus offered and the organic waste generated by a UAN of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, as well as to raise awareness among employees about the importance of reducing organic waste. The results showed that as the rest of the intake decreased, the number of cards distributed increased, indicating greater employee contribution to waste reduction. It was concluded that the type of menu and the way meals are served influence waste production, and further studies on the topic are needed.
