Item Logística Reversa e Coleta Seletiva do Lixo: A Educação Ambiental como Ferramenta Auxiliar no Processo de Reciclagem do Lixo Eletrônico(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) CARVALHO, Mário Ricardo Bento de; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe general objective of this thesis was to analyze, from the perspective of reverse logistics, the contribution of environmental education as a management tool for selective waste collection in the context of recycling household electronic waste in the city of Manaus. The research included a case study at the company Descarte Correto, interviews with the Municipal Secretariat of Cleaning and Public Services (SEMULSP), and questionnaires applied to recyclable waste collectors. The results show that initiatives to address the electronic waste problem in Manaus are incipient, highlighting the need for greater awareness and structured actions.Item A Utilização do Óleo Comestível Pós-Consumo em Manaus (AM): Alternativa para a Produção de Biodiesel e Redução de Impactos Ambientais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) BEZERRA, José Antônio Coutinho; ROCHA, Gilberto de MirandaThis study aims to investigate the treatment and disposal of post-consumption edible oil produced in the manufacture of foods used for biodiesel production, in a company installed in the Industrial Pole of Manaus. The methodological process used was through technical visits in the recycling company and some generating companies. The production process, storage form, and the list of suppliers (generators) were observed. Manaus has a municipal law that defines responsibilities for generating such waste oil; however, to develop a management program, the available options for receipt and treatment are still very precarious. Given this scenario, it is noted that there is a need for public and administrative interventions that better define the guidelines for the proper management of these liquid wastes.Item Logística Reversa dos Resíduos Sólidos Industriais: Estudo de Caso em uma Empresa de Injeção Plástica do Polo Industrial de Manaus(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) SALES, Anne Marcelle Guimarães; ALCÂNTARA JÚNIOR, Petrus Agrippino deWaste has always accompanied human society throughout its trajectory and evolution on the planet; in contemporary society, population growth followed by the increase in consumer goods production generates more and more waste and disposal of products. The Law nr 12.305/2010 represents one of the most relevant Brazilian legislations to emphasize the understanding of shared responsibility, closely related to the concept of reverse logistics of waste. This work broaches the reverse logistics of plastic waste from a small company at the Industrial Center of Manaus (PIM) in order to use recycling as a way to reduce the disposal of plastic waste into the environment.Item A Indústria Nacional de Papel e Celulose e Seus Impactos de Produção: Um Estudo de Caso para a Cidade de Rio Branco – AC(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2018) CORDEIRO, Jéssica Araújo; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe present work addresses the process of pulp and paper production developed by the Brazilian industry. A critical analysis is made to show the advantages and the environmental impacts generated by this industry. The development of this work consisted of extensive research carried out to understand the practices of the pulp and paper industry and its consequences related to environmental degradation. The main problems identified by the pulp and paper production were high water consumption, contamination of soil, water, and air by chemical components from paper production, and the loss of biodiversity in the areas destined to its raw material production, composed entirely of eucalyptus. It is suggested as an alternative to minimize the impact of the industrial activity the practice of paper recycling, encouraging sustainability and promoting ecological awareness.Item A Destinação dos Resíduos Sólidos da Construção Civil em Manaus: Do Canteiro de Obras ao Destino Final(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) MOTA, Jeane da Rocha; Prof. Dr. Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de Macedo AlvesThe study investigates the disposal of solid construction waste in the city of Manaus, focusing on its segregation, reuse, and final disposal. The research highlights the need for a Municipal Construction Waste Management Plan, given the lack of recycling infrastructure in the region. Challenges and alternatives to minimize environmental impacts and reduce costs in the sector are also discussed.Item Implantação da Coleta Seletiva dos Resíduos Sólidos Domésticos no Condomínio Laranjeiras Village – Manaus-Amazônia.(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2019) VIEIRA, Maria da Conceição das Neves Nascimento; SILVA, Jerônimo LameiraThe world's concern regarding solid waste generated by man has been the focus of intense discourse by society, especially household solid waste, as there is a growing consumption, triggering inadequate management for final disposal. Law No. 12,305 / 10 established the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) which provides guidelines for integrated management and solid waste management, the responsibilities of generators and public authorities, and applicable economic instruments. Selective collection is the first step for recycling, allowing the separation of materials in the generating source, avoiding their contamination and consequently their devaluation. The present work aimed to: implement the selective collection of domestic solid waste in the Laranjeiras Village condominium, with 256 apartments. The approach was qualitative, where research techniques were used: participatory action research that included on-site observation with technical site visits, systematic direct observation and research in the following secondary public access bases, Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Municipal Secretariat of Public Cleaning (SEMULSP). The research information was made through direct observation by the author herself because she takes part in the team responsible for implementing the selective collection in the Condominio Laranjeiras. To implement this program, the strategy employed was: planning phase; implementation phase; maintenance phase; implementation of the program and monitoring, wich was carried out in the residential condominium Laranjeiras Village. With preliminary diagnosis of solid waste generated by the condominium; Awareness of condominium residents; Partnership with a collaborator; Implementation and monitoring of selective collection points. Analyzes were performed through documents which the profiles of residents correspond to women under 47 years of age and with higher education than high school and with income above 6 minimum wages. It was observed that residents could not differentiate organic waste from recyclable waste, on which the average was 100% of the was material deposited in the common waste collectors of the condominium go to the landfill. After raising awareness with residents and children of the condominium, there was an improvement in the disposal of some recyclable materials, such as: glass, plastic, tin, cardboard. As well as Partnerships with the association of scavengers, visits to the collection sorting shed to monitor the process and obtain data. It can be concluded that: the residents' engagement allowed the implementation of the selective collection of wet waste (Organic) and Dry waste (recyclable). Environmental education was fundamental to the success of the implementation and its objectives, as it was able to stimulate the formation of a group to carry out periodic monitoring of the collection through the actions of information dissemination, incentives and awareness, and, consequently, the generation of jobs and income for the families that collect the landfill in the city of Manaus.Item Análise da Coleta Seletiva na Modalidade dos Pontos de Entrega Voluntária (PEV) na Cidade de Manaus/AM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) VILAR, Patrícia Karolina Alecrim de Carvalho; Prof. Dr. Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de Macêdo AlvesThe study analyzed the management of selective solid waste collection in Manaus/AM, through the voluntary delivery method (PEV), between 2012 and 2014. A comparative analysis of the PEV system with other selective collection methods in the city was conducted, considering qualitative and quantitative aspects. The study concluded that the PEV system has greater market value when associated with organized waste picker actions. However, selective collection in Manaus still faces challenges, mainly due to process discontinuity, despite the existence of extensive legislation on the subject
