Using qualitative and quantitative methods, the research proposes solutions such as bank stabilization and systematic waste collection, emphasizing the role of PROSAMIM in improving environmental conditions and the quality of life for local residents.Item Avaliação dos impactos ambientais relacionados ao Igarapé do Quarenta como perspectivas de melhoria na qualidade de vida(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2012) CRESPO, Jane Freitas de Góes; FENZL, Norbert; QUARESMA, João Nazareno NonatoThe study assessed the environmental and social impacts of the PROSAMIM interventions on the Igarapé do Quarenta in Manaus, focusing on improving the quality of life for the local population. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, the research evaluated the program's efficiency in sanitation, housing resettlement, and environmental recovery. Results showed significant progress in reducing environmental degradation and providing basic infrastructure, though challenges such as biodiversity maintenance and socioeconomic adaptation of resettled families remain.Item CONSTRUÇÃO DE TECNOLOGIA EDUCACIONAL EM RESIDENCIAL DO PROGRAMA DE DESENVOLVIMENTO URBANO E INCLUSÃO SOCIOAMBIENTAL DE MANAUS(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) SILVA, Márcia Regina Praia Marins da; SANTOS, Lourivaldo da SilvaThe present research was developed in a complex of apartments located in the residential Avelino Pereira, project of the housing area AH1A, neighborhood Jorge Teixeira 3a (third) stage, East zone, in the city of Manaus. The study counted on content analysis and direct observation techniques, the use of semi-structured questionnaire. The results of the research were analyzed using the cadastre of residents benefiting from the program as a data source. In order to meet the quantitative approach of this study, we chose to work with a sample of fifty (50) residents of both sexes and in the age group of eighteen (18) to sixty (60) years in a randomized stratified sample with survey and study of opinion, analyzing bibliography and previous studies of the place of residence, its physical conditions and facilities, directly affected by the informal settlements. The comparison of results after application of the questionnaire and surveys of statistical data in relation to the data collected by the program confirm the need for the construction of educational technology and multiprofessional monitoring in resettlement areas.Item IMPACTOS AMBIENTAIS CAUSADOS PELA FALTA DE FOSSAS SÉPTICAS NA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO BAIRRO DE EDUCANDOS(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2023) WAUGHAN, Aldeisy de Fátima Monteiro; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe study "Environmental Impacts Caused by the Lack of Septic Tanks in the Educandos Neighborhood Watershed", by Aldeisy de Fátima Monteiro Waughan, under the supervision of Jandecy Cabral Leite, analyzes the environmental impacts resulting from the lack of adequate sanitation infrastructure in the Educandos region. The research highlights how the lack of septic tanks and basic sanitation systems contributes to the contamination of water, soil and the increase in waterborne diseases. Using an approach based on data collection and environmental quality analysis, the study identifies the main sources of pollution and their effects on the local watershed. The results indicate that pollution caused by irregular sewage dumping compromises aquatic biodiversity, creates risks to public health and reduces the population's quality of life. The study suggests measures such as the implementation of effective public policies, community awareness and the construction of septic tanks as solutions to mitigate these impacts. The work concludes that the adoption of adequate sanitation systems in the region is essential to reduce environmental degradation and ensure the sustainability of water resources.Item SISTEMA FOTOVOLTAICO NO AEROPORTO INTERNACIONAL DE MANAUS: Análise da Viabilidade Técnica, Econômica e Ambiental de Implantação Usando Simulação Computacional(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) Carlos Gomes Fontinelle; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe dissertation analyzes the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of implementing a photovoltaic system at the Manaus International Airport, using computer simulation. The study considers factors such as solar incidence, installation costs, financial return and environmental impacts, demonstrating the potential of solar energy to reduce operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The results indicate that the adoption of photovoltaic technology is a sustainable and economically viable alternative for the airport's energy matrix, contributing to energy efficiency and environmental preservation.Item Captação, Armazenamento e Utilização de Águas Pluviais com o Mínimo de Interferência Manual: Estudo de Caso em um Instituto Federal(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2018) PALHETA, Pedro Ivan das Graças; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe study proposes an automated system for capturing, storing, and utilizing rainwater at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Amazonas (IFAM) – Manaus Industrial District Campus, aiming to reduce potable water consumption. The system uses photovoltaic panels to power sensors and actuators, ensuring autonomous operation. The reservoir was sized based on historical rainfall data, and preliminary results include the installation of reservoirs and process automation. The captured water is intended for non-potable uses, such as toilet flushing and cleaning, contributing to environmental and economic sustainability.Item Educação Ambiental e Linguagem: O Uso do Livro Paradidático Interativo como Proposta Pedagógica para Despertar a Sensibilização Ambiental(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2014) BARBOZA, Luciana Arantes Silva; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThis research was conducted in ten public schools in Redenção-PA, with 6th and 9th-grade students, aiming to diagnose their environmental perception and produce an interactive paradidactic material. The goal was to compare environmental awareness before and after using the material, which addressed themes such as burning, water, waste, and pollution, integrating them with Portuguese language learning. The results showed that the material significantly contributed to environmental awareness and the development of reading and writing skills.Item Diminuição dos resíduos orgânicos gerados por uma Unidade de Alimentação e Nutrição do Polo Industrial de Manaus: Efeitos de uma campanha de sensibilização(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) GOMIDES, Renata Campos; BRASIL, Davi do Socorro BarrosThe habit of wasting food is rooted in the national culture, a fact that adds to the reduction of the nutritional proportions offered to thousands of families, becoming more relevant in less affluent populations. This study aimed to describe the relationship between the menus offered and the organic waste generated by a UAN of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, as well as to raise awareness among employees about the importance of reducing organic waste. The results showed that as the rest of the intake decreased, the number of cards distributed increased, indicating greater employee contribution to waste reduction. It was concluded that the type of menu and the way meals are served influence waste production, and further studies on the topic are needed.Item Análise do Processo de Descarte e Reciclagem de Vidro em uma Distribuidora de Bebidas da Cidade de Manaus, Estado do Amazonas(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) SILVA, Fabiane Amaral de Albuquerque; LIMA, Marcelo OliveiraPublic policies around the world are being developed by organizations, such as the United Nations (UN), to preserve the environment and raise awareness about the importance of recycling. This study analyzed the process of glass disposal and recycling in a beverage distributor in Manaus, Amazonas, using parameters similar to those in the report 'Study for the Development of an Integrated Solution Regarding the Management of Industrial Waste in the Industrial Pole of Manaus'. The results showed that the selected company sends 78% of discarded glass for recycling, while 18% is collected by the municipality and 4% goes to landfills. It was concluded that the company operates within environmental standards, with a concern to avoid environmental contamination, and improvements were suggested to optimize the recycling process.
