Item APLICAÇÃO DE FERRAMENTAS DO LEAN MANUFACTURING EM UM PROCESSO DE SMT: ESTUDO DE CASO(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2015) UHLMANN, Iracyanne Retto; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral; SOUZA, José Antonio da SilvaMany organizations have looked for increasing their competitiveness by reducing costs. One of the most used strategies nowadays to reduce waste in production processes and consequently increase added value is the Lean Production System (LPS) application, also known as lean manufacturing. The objective of this study is to show the benefits of some lean tools applications in a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) process in an electro-electronic industry at Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM). The case study methodology was used, oriented by the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) tool. After performing the lean events, the main result was achieved: an increase in the lean maturity index in the process, from 25.20% (stone phase) to 81.80% (gold phase).Item Análise da Melhoria no Processo de Manutenção de Navios com a Aplicação do DMAIC e de Ferramentas de Qualidade(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2019) GUIMARÃES, Glendha de Oliveira; QUARESMA, João Nazareno NonatoPublic sector organizations are usually associated with slow, bureaucratic processes that generate late results. This work aims to apply the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology to analyze and propose improvements in the ship maintenance process, using quality tools. The research strategy adopted was a case study applied to the ship maintenance process. Based on DMAIC, process improvements were proposed to meet the demand for these services. Through the application of tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Ishikawa, SWOT, and others, it was possible to mitigate the lack of standardization of procedures, the lack of a systemic view of the process flow by managers, the deficiency in server training, and the lack of focus on the end customer.Item Aplicação da Metodologia Seis Sigma como Fator Estratégico para Aumento da Eficiência Operacional: Estudo de Caso de uma Empresa no Setor Portuário(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) SILVA, Herberth Bruno Nunes e; MAGALHÃES, Edilson MarquesThis work proposes the application of the Six Sigma methodology aligned with the strategic goal of a company in the port sector to increase its loading capacity by optimizing operational processes, reducing losses, and improving efficiency. The exploratory research was conducted through a case study with the implementation of the methodology in the operational processes of a port unit located in São Luís - MA. Six Sigma tools and concepts were used, with emphasis on the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). After implementation, operational losses were reduced by 0.42 hours per ship, resulting in a potential gain of 375 hours per year, contributing to greater operational efficiency at the port and achieving the company's strategic objectives.Item Aplicação do Método DMAIC em uma Empresa de Panificação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019) FERREIRA, Vellyan José dos Santos; QUARESMA, João Nazareno NonatoThe search for competitiveness through continuous improvement becomes a crucial process for ensuring the survival of companies. This study applies the DMAIC methodology in a bakery company located in Itacoatiara-AM, with the goal of eliminating waste-generating activities (MUDA). Through interviews, direct observation, and data collection, a case study was conducted. Tools like Project Charter, Flowchart, Ishikawa Diagram, GUT Matrix, 5W2H Action Plan, and Control Plan supported each step of the DMAIC. The method’s implementation identified significant waste in French bread manufacturing and proposed corrections that considerably reduced waste, enhancing the company’s efficiency and savings.
