The model was experimentally validated, demonstrating the evolution of moisture content and temperature in the wood during the process. Energy and exergy balances were performed in exchangers using live steam and regenerative steam, with significant losses identified in exchangers 4 and 5. The research, conducted through a case study, included document analysis and questionnaires applied to 12 production employees. The goal is to minimize total processing time and production costs, such as transportation and overtime, by optimizing the sequence of four tasks across three processors. The model implementation showed significant reductions in operational costs, enhancing production efficiency.Item Logística Reversa e Coleta Seletiva do Lixo: A Educação Ambiental como Ferramenta Auxiliar no Processo de Reciclagem do Lixo Eletrônico(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) CARVALHO, Mário Ricardo Bento de; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe general objective of this thesis was to analyze, from the perspective of reverse logistics, the contribution of environmental education as a management tool for selective waste collection in the context of recycling household electronic waste in the city of Manaus. The research included a case study at the company Descarte Correto, interviews with the Municipal Secretariat of Cleaning and Public Services (SEMULSP), and questionnaires applied to recyclable waste collectors. The results show that initiatives to address the electronic waste problem in Manaus are incipient, highlighting the need for greater awareness and structured actions.Item Processo de Gestão para Utilização da Água para Indústria da Construção Civil: Um Estudo de Caso(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2016) SOUZA, Monik Érica Silva de; LEITE, Jandecy CabralThe study addresses the management process for water treatment and reuse in the civil construction industry, focusing on the decantation technique. The research, conducted at Supermix Concreto S/A, demonstrates that adopting this method can lead to savings of 70% to 80% in water consumption and reduce energy costs, in addition to bringing economic, social, and environmental benefits. Methods such as document analysis, interviews, and direct observation were used to collect and analyze data, highlighting the feasibility and importance of sustainable water resource management in the sector.
