The dissertation addresses the application of the Problem Analysis and Solution Method (MASP) in a furniture industry, with the aim of improving quality and productivity. The study emphasizes the importance of Quality Tools in identifying and solving failures in production processes. The methodology used is based on a structured approach to problem analysis, following the MASP steps: problem identification, observation, analysis, action plan, execution, verification and standardization. The results demonstrate that the implementation of MASP allowed the identification of the main causes of the problems, enabling significant improvements in production efficiency and the quality of the final products. In addition, the study highlights the importance of employee involvement and the use of quantitative data to support decision-making. It is concluded that MASP is an effective tool for companies seeking to improve their production processes and achieve higher standards of quality and competitiveness in the market.

Implantação de Sistema de PCP – Programação e Controle da Produção
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) PINTO, Marcelo Fernandes; CUNHA, Edinaldo José de Sousa
The study focuses on the implementation of Production Planning and Control (PCP) in a small plastic packaging company, aiming to improve productivity and final product quality. Issues such as excessive machine downtime, high scrap rates, and inefficient planning were identified. The methodology included documentary research and direct observation, leading to a 12.5% reduction in downtime, 100% order fulfillment, and a 22.7% decrease in scrap. The conclusion highlights PCP as crucial for the competitiveness of small businesses, despite financial constraints.

AVALIAÇÃO DA APLICAÇÃO DO CICLO PDCA NA TOMADA DE DECISÃO EM PROCESSOS INDUSTRIAIS
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2015) ALBUQUERQUE, Ananélia Cláudia Rodrigues de Queiroz; LEITE, Jandecy Cabral
The multiplicity of challenges of a globalized and competitive reality of industrial processes has driven the development of several instruments to the essential synchronization of the quality management system within the organizational processes. In this context, this work presents the instrument called PDCA cycle that, if implemented effectively in the industrial process, operates on improving decision-making for its broad applicability, versatility and relevance as an aid in finding solutions to the challenges that the management quality faces and enables the identification of factors that interfere and/or facilitate the dynamics of the strategic vision through the quality management system and its control in order to meet business and market demands. This is a research/action that drew upon questionnaires, interviews, direct observation and data collection through technical visits carried on as a case study. The PDCA cycle in this paper was used as a tool for evaluation and diagnosed discontinuities in the company's production process under study, pointing inconsistency between the input and the output. Furthermore, the identification of the problem has been delayed due to miscommunication between the sectors involved in the production process, which has hindered the decision-making for solving the critical point.

A Aplicação da Metodologia DMAIC no Processo de Satisfação dos Clientes e Seu Impacto nos Resultados Financeiros em uma Agência Bancária
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2021) SOUZA, Vanderson Guimarães de; OLIVEIRA, Kleber Bittencourt
This dissertation refers to the application of the principles and concepts of the DMAIC methodology, aiming to reduce failures in the customer satisfaction process of a banking agency by analyzing the financial impacts caused after its implementation. Using qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory research, a six-month follow-up of customer service activities, account opening and closing, and other agency services was carried out. The study identified, analyzed, and proved the effective use of quality tools in institutional activities. Experimentally, it was found that the systematic application of DMAIC led to highly satisfactory results, with a 26% increase in agency profit and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 75 points, justifying and enhancing the use of this procedure. Furthermore, due to its effectiveness and simplicity, the methodology also promotes motivational and integrative aspects of human elements, contributing to organizational excellence and sustainability.

A Comunicação entre os Setores de uma Empresa como Principal Ferramenta da Qualidade na Produção Enxuta
(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2020) BASTOS, Riomar Martins; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques
The need to improve service to end customers and suppliers at a multinational in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, due to the low performance of its main KPI (Key Performance Indicator) OTD (On Time Delivery), which fluctuated at 56%, motivated this work. The objective was to raise this index to 92%. The methodology applied was centered on the philosophy of lean production and quality tools, with a survey of the main problems that negatively impacted the main KPI. The results pointed to communication between sectors as the main problem, and with the support of the board and the application of continuous improvement, it was possible to raise the KPI OTD to 92%, currently achieving a delivery rate of 99%.

Concreto Produzido na Cidade de Santarém - Pará: Um Estudo Comparativo de Métodos de Produção e Qualidade
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014) SANTOS, Ivens Silva dos; Prof. Dr. Bernardo Borges Pompeu Neto
This paper presents a study on concrete production in the city of Santarém-PA, comparing the methods of production in concrete plants, mixers, and manual mixing. The objective was to identify the main factors influencing concrete quality, evaluate the use of safety equipment, verify technological control, and analyze the productivity and financial costs of different methods. The research was conducted through interviews with professionals in the field and technical visits to construction sites. The results indicated that concrete produced in mixers is the most used in Santarém, especially for small structures, while ready-mix concrete is preferred for large quantities and heights. The quality of the concrete was affected by factors such as poor aggregate quality, excess water, and lack of technological control. The study concludes that ready-mix concrete is the most recommended due to its productivity and technological control, although there are still challenges to be overcome.
