It is concluded that humans are the primary agents of environmental degradation.Item Diagnóstico de Sinalização em Trilhas Turísticas: Um Estudo de Caso do Parque Municipal do Mindu – Manaus/AM(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) LIMA, Heleno Almeida; ALVES, Cláudio NahumTracks date back a story as old as man, long before there roads, highways and roads complexes. The trails and later, roads, from early stages of civilization, incorporated the need to be signaled. This document discusses the importance of wayfinding on tracks of an environmental conservation unit, using as object of study the sign system on Mindu Municipal Park, a conservation unit created to protect a primate specie called Sauim-de-Coleira located in Manaus / Amazonas. A field research was conducted in the park trails on four saturdays mornings on August, 2016 and on March 18th, 2017 and a photographic report was collected during these visits. Also, a qualitative analysis from park visitors reports in social specialized network was compiled. From both sources, we discovered the shortcomings of touristic wayfinding of the Park. From social network data, the dissatisfaction of visitors with current existing sign system was clear. Therefore, we proved the need for wayfinding redesign on park trails, so visitors can have access to more information, improving their perception of the Park, during touristic and educational activities or on a simple Sunday visit with the family.Item Educação Ambiental no Currículo do Curso de Licenciatura Intercultural Indígena do Instituto Insikiran/UFRR(Instituto de Tecnologia, 2017) SANTOS, Larisse Livramento dos; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe research analyzed how Environmental Education (EE) is integrated into the curriculum of the Indigenous Intercultural Licentiate course at Insikiran Institute/UFRR, through the analysis of the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) and the Course Conclusion Works (TCC) produced between 2008 and 2014. The qualitative study identified that EE is present as an intercultural element, with a transdisciplinary and holistic approach, focused on indigenous culture and scientific development. Advances in the inclusion of EE in the curriculum were observed, but challenges remain, such as the lack of academic productions on sustainability and technology. The interculturality of the students fosters the exchange of knowledge, transforming empirical knowledge into scientific knowledge. It is concluded that there is a need for greater integration of EE into the curriculum, with a focus on public policies and university management.Item Identidade Ambiental Discente: Uma Exploração de Atividades no Ensino Médio do IFAM(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2016) FIALHO, Edevaldo Albuquerque; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe document explores the construction of environmental identity among high school students at the Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM) through practical and reflective activities. An example is in physical education and science classes, where the physical education teacher deals with bodily practices of movement, and in science teaching, through games, movement practice can be encouraged. The aim of this study was to value interdisciplinarity in Physical Education classes through games and play as a tool in the science teaching-learning process. The study was conducted through the application of practical activities on the topics of the cardiovascular, muscular, and locomotor systems, carried out with the aid of games, applied to 306 students, of both genders, aged 10 to 17 years. There is a relationship between the contents of Physical Education and Sciences, especially in the thematic axis of the human body, and the use of games as a teaching resource presents itself as an effective method for content assimilation.Item Meio Ambiente, Desenvolvimento Sustentável, Ética Ecológica do Cuidado e a Experiência do Centro Universitário Luterano de Manaus(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) SILENDER, Valdemar; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe environmental issue presents itself as one of the great challenges of all humanity, also for Higher Education Institutions. The objective of this study is to verify how the environment, sustainable development and ecological ethics of care are being studied in the Lutheran University Center of Manaus, based on the results, adopt institutional measures to maintain or modify current teaching strategies and practices on these subjects. A survey was carried out with 244 academics from the Institute's 11 undergraduate courses, registered in 2016. It was verified that more than 80% answered that subjects such as environment and sustainable development are extremely important for humanity and all professionals, regardless of their area of expertise, should have ethical posture and attitudes towards the environment. However, only 50% see the extreme importance of these topics being worked on in all courses of the Institution. When asked if the research subjects receive due attention in the training of CEULM / ULBRA professionals, only 23.7% gave maximum marks, that is, the absolute majority understands that the Institution does not give due attention to these subjects. Thus, the research reveals that the Institution needs to work more and better on these subjects, both in the Pedagogical Projects of the Courses (PPCs) and in the subjects of the Basic Cycle of General Education, as well as, it needs to offer more experiences in this area through projects, as happened with the Ecological House.Item Navegabilidade do Rio Solimões no trecho compreendido entre Manaus-Coari(Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, 2017) SANTOS, Carlos Alberto dos; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe study evaluates the navigability of the Solimões River in the stretch between Manaus and Coari, highlighting critical factors influencing fluvial transport, such as sandbanks, landslides, and seasonal flow variations. The results contribute to understanding the challenges of waterway transport in the Amazon, especially during low-water periods.Item OS IMPACTOS SOCIOAMBIENTAIS DO FESTIVAL FOLCLÓRICO PARA O TURISMO E COMUNIDADE NA CIDADE DE PARINTINS – AMAZONAS(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017) REIS, Elda Maria de Lima; ALVES, Cláudio NahumThe Amazon Region provides, besides its fauna and flora, one of the most beautiful folkloric spectacles: the Parintins Festival. The “Tupinambarana Isle” – as Parintins City is known – welcomes thousands of different people that visit the city during the Festival nicknamed as the “Boi Bumbás”. Such event has been responsible by the heating of local tourism, realizing the true cultural potential of the city of Parintins. Such is the reason why interest has arisen in the making of the present Case Study, named as “The socio-environmental impacts of the Folkloric Festival to the tourism and community in the city of Parintins”. Not to take away from the cultural and touristic importance of the Folkloric Festival of Parintins, several impacts of different strands have been acknowledged during it, such as the production of solid residue and the final destination of the produced garbage, which brings about serious biohazard impacts. Such facts generate the necessity of the promotion of environmental campaigns which encourage the local population and tourists to contribute with the preservation of the environment, via means of selected discarding of garbage in special designed containments. Such actions will surely contribute with the workers of the local Garbage Collectors Association, which has been unable to generate enough throughput to deal with the risen demand during the festival. We highlight the data in the research that shows that, especially to the hotel and commercial sectors, the festival has become a primordial source of income. More than 70% of the subjects involved in the research (community and tourists alike) have considered the event as highly important to the development of Parintins. In this manner, in the current dissertation, campaigns have been put in motion that strengthens the participatory behavior of the local community and tourists, in respect to the correct discarding of garbage during the Folkloric Festival of Parintins.
